AI is taking our jobs and we’ll all be replaced by Skynet soon. Time to throw in the towel I guess!
In all seriousness though, whilst the prospect of society’s ever impending collapse at the hands of “the machine” is a scary one, it’s certainly looking to make our lives much easier. Provided we’re willing to spare a little creativity in how we utilise it, of course.
Let me explain. I’d obvously heard the recent chatter online about AI generated art and the eerily realistic chat bots we now have free access to. I hadn’t really played around much with them, other than generating some artsy selfies and a DnD campaign. But why not use them for business?
Well it feels like cheating, doesn’t it? Where’s the passion, the expertise or the quality? Won’t it just end up being a bunch of regurgitated nonsense everyone’s already seen a hundred times?
I decided to find out, so I set myself a challenge. I’m going to use AI to generate content for Bro Media for a month, but with a few rules:
- It must be quality content. Specifically, it must be relevant, useful and interesting to read.
- It mustn’t feel regurgitated or generic.
- All content and media will be AI generated, unless otherwise specified.
So, following this article, everything in the “AI Experiment” category will be generated by ChatGPT, with some help from DALL-E for the artwork. The goal will essentially be to drive traffic to the articles and maybe even generate a little bit of user engagement. For the sake of openness, I’ve opted to preface my scheme beforehand, just in case the content all ends up being terrible, and people think I’ve lost my mind. I’m crossing my fingers that doesn’t happen though.
At the end of the month, I’m going to post some stats and any lessons I’ve learnt along the way. Sounds interesting, right? Let’s see how it goes!
A very interesting challenge indeed! Looking forward to seeing how it goes.
